October-November Family Pics

We had a very busy October and I didn't even open up the Disney file for this update. We spent the day at the Magic Kingdom on my birthday and had loads of fun! Obviously there is halloween stuff and the pumpkin patch which is really humorous... take notes from the professional here people... on how to get your kids to cooperate... or how to get them to freak out at any mention of the camera! After Halloween we went camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness with some good friends from St. Augustine. There's a couple pics of the newly redecorated camper (okay so I forgot to take them BEFORE it got messy) --we love the new drapes and cushions! I traded services with a friend for this a while back and she did an excellent job! Camping was a blast and a good break in the midst of this very hectic time of year.

Krista

Krista called me looking to get a business portrait, something she could use for marketing and website purposes, in her real estate career. We took her head shots at the FIT gardens and she was a breeze to work with. Too bad she's married, I'd be giving her number to my little brother, he needs to buy a house anyway! but seriously, he does need to find a house so Krista you should post a comment here with your website so people can contact you! These business cards are going to look way better than the oh so boring gray backdrop and blazer. Way to think outside the box Krista!

Nadija, Marina and Marley

I had the privilege of photographing these beautiful young girls last week on Melbourne Beach. Marley and Marina are sisters and Nadija is Marina's best friend (above.) Also, to make it even more fun, I've been friends with Nadija's mom Erika since we were in middle school... Go Scotties. Correction: Elementary - Go Panthers. It was a super windy day at the beach so we took a few in the parking lot first where the dunes were blocking the wind... after that we played on the beach.

that is real skin glow people, no photoshop!

The Heart Gallery

I did some work for the Tampa Bay Heart Gallery not too long ago and really loved it. I love the mission to bring foster children into loving "forever families" through portraits that truly show the heart of the children. I'm not sure how big this organization is in Melbourne but it seems to be growing in Tampa and all over the country. I considered it a privilege to do the work for them. The boy I photographed was so sweet and kind, so ready to settle into his own family. He is actually living here in Melbourne currently. Now, click here to see Emmanuel on the Heart Gallery web site!

The Patterson Families!

My good friend Becky has this big huge family. I was so excited when she asked me to photograph all of them. Then I remembered that they are all super-creative and I got a little nervous. Most of my clients don't have a strong vision for what they want going into a shoot but I knew these guys would and I just hoped I could deliver! She mainly wanted photos of all the brothers and sisters together. We saved that for last and did a quick mini session with the big family group and each individual family first, then the little ones ran off to play with the daddies while the sisters-and brother stayed on for their pics. We had a lot of fun roaming around in Cocoa Village. The first one up there is my favorite but I am super partial to the school bus pics too. We got kicked off the bus fairly quick but the more I think about it, don't I own at least a piece? Maybe even a wheel? What's the harm in a few pics? geez.

love this, and yes Emily Dana knew exactly who you guys were, small world!

check those eyes.

These guys have three kids in three years... enough said.

Apple & Eve, I found your poster child.

ohhh he is cute!

love this one above too, had to replace your face though Becky, in every one of this series someone had eyes shut or was looking away... you were the easiest one to fix...

Alicia didn't think she was going to get on the bus.

Good times.

The McHugh Family

I met with the McHugh family last week for family portraits on the Indian River. This session was a gift to Mrs. McHugh, one of our teacher gifts last year. She was Logan's kindergarten teacher and by summer he was reading up a storm, big chapter books! That's not the only thing he learned in kindergarten but there's not enough room here for all those details! I think we got some great shots, and it was a really pretty evening!
